Hi
This is all new to me.
Using my wifes name even !!
Got a set of Halfords super brilliance bulbs 2 for 1 . I hear they are quite good. Fitment looks tricky and tight especially driver side with an air box in the way. Does this have to be removed ? The rubbery bits look a tad tight as well.
Any comments
thanx Dave

As long as they are the correct fitment you won't have a problem - just follow the instructions in the owner's manual. It'll take you just a few minutes at the most (that includes unbolting part of the air intake).
If I can do it, anyone can do it! :)

Thanks
I removed the self tapping front bolt of the air intake and expected the box just to unclip from the wing. Having applied a bit of pressure i decided to quit for fear of damage. Is there a bolt i'm missing ?
What's the small electrical gizmo inserted into the side of the front part of air intake ?
Perhaps I'll get the garage to fit them at the next service in a few weeks !

It's been a while since I changed my bulbs but I don't recall removing the airbox - I think the intake slides off the airbox after the bolt is undone.
Sorry, can't check for you at the moment. Will check at next opportunity...

Changed mine this week. The air feed into the wing pulls off once you have removed the bolt above the headlight. Dont worry about the elec connection into it, just turn it over and out the way. Then squeeze (hard) the connector on the back of the headlight and pull off, pull off the rubber seal thing and unclip the retainer. Job done.

As said above, the intake pipe is just clipped into position, so wiggle it off after removing the one bolt on top of the slam panel.
To get the rubber cover off, get your hand down the bottom of the cover. You should find there's a bit more to hold onto to peel it away from the headlamp. Might be tight but don't worry about it. Just pull and it'll come out!
(make sure you take the plug off the bulb first though. Again this might be tight. Wiggle it side to side as you're pulling the connector out of the bulb itself. Use your other hand to keep the bulb in place while you're doing it.

Thanks guys
I'll give it another go this weekend. This time I'll give it a bit more laldy !
Watch this space for a broken plastic air intake and smudged bulb filaments that go pop.
I'll let you know how it goes.
Cheers
