I thought I would post this guide as I recently took of my TB to be sent away for porting. And thought the community would benefit from knowing the proc for removing the TB.

So hear goes.

Firstly you need to remove the Intercooler to gain access to the throttle body.
You need to remove the two screws that hold the I/C in place.

http://i69.photobucket.com/albums/i73/monki-boi/271120071062.jpg

Also you need to remove the clips for the DV, Re-Circ, the clips that hold the turbo to I/c pipe, and the little pipe from I/c to TB.

http://i69.photobucket.com/albums/i73/monki-boi/271120071063.jpg
http://i69.photobucket.com/albums/i73/monki-boi/271120071064.jpg
http://i69.photobucket.com/albums/i73/monki-boi/271120071065.jpg

Once the I/C removed put it to a safe place.

http://i69.photobucket.com/albums/i73/monki-boi/271120071066.jpg

Here is the pic looking into the inlet on the TB, this also shows all the components that are connected to the TB.
On the left is the ISCV and TPS sensors on the left, and two water pipes below the TB, and the throttle linkage on the right.

http://i69.photobucket.com/albums/i73/monki-boi/271120071068.jpg

What you have to do now is remove the plugs that are connected to the ISCV and TPS sensors.

ISCV

TPS
http://i69.photobucket.com/albums/i73/monki-boi/271120071069.jpg

Here is a pic of both plugs connected and disconnected.

http://i69.photobucket.com/albums/i73/monki-boi/271120071073.jpg

Now you need to dissconnect the throttle cable from the TB housing.
Undo the throttle cable at the bracket which is attached to the inlet manifold. There are 2x12mm nuts, Un-screw the nut closest to the Throttle body.

http://i69.photobucket.com/albums/i73/monki-boi/271120071075.jpg
http://i69.photobucket.com/albums/i73/monki-boi/271120071076.jpg
and push against the cable to free it up from the bracket.

Now you can remove the throttle cable by manovering the nipple away from the semi-circle linkage like so.

http://i69.photobucket.com/albums/i73/monki-boi/271120071077.jpg

Now all you need to do is unscrew the 4x12mm bolts that are holding the TB to the manifold.

http://i69.photobucket.com/albums/i73/monki-boi/271120071081.jpg
As you can see the bolts are now removed. and the TB is ready to come
away from the manifold.

Be CAREFULL when prising the TB away from the manifold, as you dont want to rip the gaskit, you can re-use it.

http://i69.photobucket.com/albums/i73/monki-boi/271120071082.jpg

Sods law my gaskit was stuck to the TB so I very carefully and gently prised it off the TB like so.

http://i69.photobucket.com/albums/i73/monki-boi/271120071083.jpg
http://i69.photobucket.com/albums/i73/monki-boi/271120071084.jpg

As I looked over the gaskit sods law part of the gaskit decided to stay with the TB as you can see from the Picture I will need a new gaskit.

http://i69.photobucket.com/albums/i73/monki-boi/271120071093.jpg

What you need to do now is the last stage of removal. You need to disconnect the two water pipes that run under the throttle body.

http://i69.photobucket.com/albums/i73/monki-boi/271120071085.jpg

And use a set of plires to prise the clips apart and then pull gently at the hose to take it off the TB. And use a 10mm or 12mm bolt to plug the hose to minimise spillage and loss of coolant.

http://i69.photobucket.com/albums/i73/monki-boi/271120071087.jpg

Do the same with the other side as so.

http://i69.photobucket.com/albums/i73/monki-boi/271120071088.jpg

One done you have done this you have the throttle body ready in your hands to be sent off.

Hope this guide has helped people who are not so knowledgable. And with thanks to PICKLE who talked me through how to disconnect the Tb ready to be sent off.

Kind Regards Monki.
