Hi all

Not been on here for a little while, busy, busy, busy :(

Pride is due a service in 2,000 miles and just wandered whether anyone had been to the new Twyford garage? I'm a bit worried about letting them loose on the 30,000 job if they are not yet fully trained up on Subaru's.

If a garage takes on a new manufacturer I presume it will take a while for them to get clued up - am I too cautious or should I just book it in?

I would assume that the mechanic (or technician, as some like to be called :D !) would have had an appropriate level of training from the manufacturer before they are certified for work on the respective cars, so it should be ok.
Having said that, if you are still (understandably) a bit concerned, just don't do it. Go your tried/trusted place until you've heard about other people's experiences at the new place. Let someone else be the guinea pig  !
Hope I'm not being too paranoid but I've had both good and bad experiences with so-called main dealer servicing and maintenance work and at the moment I go out of my way by about 20-30 miles (round trip) to get my motor serviced.

Hi Viv

Prob. is my normal dealer at Pangbourne have lost the Subaru agency :( I think the next nearest is at Oxford or Maidenhead. I think I'll see over the next couple of months if anyone has good expereinces at Twyford.

Visited this dealership yesterday as I was passing by, P1 on the forecourt at £19.995. Had a brief chat with one of the managers there who was in a meeting with Subaru rep. They have been Subaru for only five weeks now but have been on this site for many years. Got a good feeling based on small family atmosphere but I think they may well have a lot to learn about the marque. I wish them all the best......
