What is the best way to keep it highly polished and scratch free??

Been told by most chroming companies that a coat of WD40 is best to maintain it as i was looking to get my FMIC pipes chromed.

Dremmel buffer pads and meg's nxt metal polish is brilliant for the alternator, and a/c pipes ect ;)
