Just got a renewal today from greenlight insurance today, from £950 to a whopping £1437.75.

No circumstances have changed from the last time I renewed.

31 with full no claims for countless years and these robbing feckers bounce up my premium by £500 just like that.

Just getting very very fed up with Impreza ownership now, after 7 years of owning Imprezas. Just been taken for a fukcing ride from everyone. Seriously asking why i should be paying for whats probably around 5k a year to run it, and be afraid of where I park the thing.

Seriously thinking of binning the car now and just forgeting about Imprezas etc from now on. Have tried tescos and they want £1160, trying a few others now.

I can relate to that, was with Green Light ... 2 weeks before my renewl, i got a letter saying they "we unable to renew my insurance" ... phone them up and they said the underwriters had changed there conditions and noone under the age of 30 could drive my car (28, and had been with them for 2 years)

Ended up having to go back to Priviledge as they are the only people to insure my car with its mods ... not a happy bunny

 Thats crazy

And they wonder why there are so many un-insured cars on our roads  Local paper has had a number of cases in it recently, one where an un-insured driver hit an innocent fully legal driver.... went to court and he gets a £250 fine and 6 points, admonished for having no MOT or road tax. WTF???? Other driver loses there no claims bonus and has all the hassle involved in claiming.

Tony's got a lot to answer for (though at least he's dealing with the real scum of the earth........anyone who exceeds 70mph    ) He should be in a circus juggling balls cos he's nothing more than a CLOWN :!:

Well, I'm 33, 5 years protected NCB, Class 1 business use, 12,000/year, myself and the Mrs (declared as partner, not named driver, gets extra discount).

With Privilege for £750

[quote="Danny_B"] Sure they dont think its a sport

 that thought did cross my mind Danny but i checked with them that it was indeed the 2 door P1 they had in mind and they confirmed it was and the documentation all says Impreza P1 so i'm happy enough.

Not sure why it was so cheap with them i did confirm as well that the car has the prodrive brake upgrade and 18" wheels just to be on the safe side.

I found the same last year with Norwich Union they were miles cheaper than anyone else but this year hiked the premium up so i went looking for someone cheaper. Tesco for me by the way were only about £600

must be cos i'm on old git or something :P

Greenlight did it to me as well. First year was really good. Second year, no changes, 1 more years NCB and the price went through the roof.

I ditched them for someone else :)

They are worth a try Danny, I was surprised that they were about a ton cheaper than anyone else.

They do cover mods too but will only repair to OE standard. Not discussed real mods with them as yet though so not sure how keen they’ll be on a 2.5 lump

It seems to be the way forward to use a different company every year. I guess the insurance world doesn’t need repeat business?!

Aye ... rumour has it they were discounting the policy too much, and the underwriter slapped em for it ...

Blimey Waggy, are you a getaway driver for bank heists or something

ScoobyNutta, keep shopping around, but at the end of the day, you have to decide the value of keeping the P1 on the road. If you decide to change, I'll swop my UK turbo with you. Only been driven into one fence  and insurance is less than £600.

Just had my renewal hit the floor from Norwich Union and they have hiked my premium up by 330 quid When Mrs F@F phoned them up asking why as we have not had any claims etc, they couldn't give her an answer :x .

So now they have been told to "sling their hook" and I have just insured the car for 600 quid fully comp Mrs F@F as a named driver (only been driving 2 years  ) 150 pounds excess with Elephant. com.

What the fook these insurance companies think when they send out a renewal hoping you don't notice its twice as much as last year "****ers"

Wish I was at home as it would have been some serious verbal down the phone  :x  :x
