Having got my vehicle back from the bodyshop on Wednesday night i decided i better sort the Tracker situation!!!!

This morning i gave them a call to pay this years subscription, another £120. No probs snap the credit card out of my hand and take the money (not literally as i was on the phone to them).

All sorted. Can you run a check to see if the system is up and working ok. 'No probems sir' No security check or anything

An hour later they call back, by which time the car could have been in a shipping container and away.

'Has the car definately been moved this morning sir?'

'Urrr Yes, i drove it to work and is currently parked outside my office'

'Well we have been unable to get any response from the unit, it must be faulty'

[Silence]

[Sigh]

'I dont know if you are aware but several of the vehicles the same as mine have been stolen recently with your tracker system on'

'No i wasnt aware of that sir!!!!'

'What are you gunna do about it then? I have just renewed my subscription for something that doesnt work!!!!! I had a new sim put in back in August of last year when i bought the car and had the system reactivated. Surely it cant be faulty again'

'I wouldnt know sir'

Blah Blah Blah
5-10 mins later

'I will get an engineer to call you'

' Can YOU call me back within the hour then to let me know what is goin on'

'I will get the engineer to call you'

'When??? Within the hour!!!!

'I will get the engineer to call you sometime today'

ARRRRRRGGGHHHHHHH What is wrong with these people????

Still awaiting call...............

In all fairness to tracker, if youre only doing a check to see if its working that is classed as low priority, so thats why they take a while to ring back. When i rang to test they were also tracking several stolen cars so i accepted that me running a system check would take a bit longer. Im pretty sure that if you rang them saying the car had been stolen they would track it quickly.

But its still no good that they took your money and it wasnt even working. They should test each tracker THEMSELVES before asking for renewal money, that way any problems will be identified by them rather than waiting for you to find them out.

Rod,

I don't know how long you have been watching the various threads & concerns about this situation. My car has been stolen, they did not know, I told them. I have had every excuse under the sun. I have have written, I have telephoned....

I have just had an email that basically says if thieves get round the system it's not our problem, Subaru decide where its fitted. We will look at our policy regarding customer contact in these cases and for anything else see our terms and conditions. No reimbursement of subscriptions will be offered.

I cannot put into words my feelings, they just made a huge error of judgement..
