I bought a Knocklink and Defi gauges about 5 months ago but never got round to fitting them. Has anyone fitted them thereself as I'm looking for detailed instructions. i.e., exactly what wires to use for electrical supply, and correct installation of the senders for the Defis.
Cheers,
Graham.

They are a doddle to install :)
Boost - pull one of the pipes off the front of the manifold, fit piece of small pipe and t-piece. Reconnect original pipe to t-piece and then connect defi boost sender to other port. Mount the sender unit on a nearby convenient bolt!
Oil Pressure - I used the OE pressure tapping, the one that controls the oil pressure light on the dash. Got a mechanic to do this as it meant moving the alternator and retensioning belts etc
Oil temperature - tapping on top of the block, just to the left of the intercooler as you look at it. There's a large blanking bolt with a hex fitting for removal.
Knocklink - other side of the block is a thread you can bolt the sensor onto.
Run all the wires together and take them through a blanking grommet on the passenger side - it comes through just to the right of the ECU.
For the power I took feeds off the power supply for the stereo. For the Defi power supply you'll need a permanent live supply; have a poke around with a current detector thingy - there's a perm feed to the radio :)
Run all the defi feeds into the control box then take one line out to the gauges and daisy chain them together :)
Easy :)

Another question. Do you have to remove the intercooler to fit oil temp probe , and knocklink sensor? Also do you need to install any in line fuses when you wire them up?

I managed to leave my intercooler one when fitting my knocklink. Just removed the re-circ valve and fitted the sensor below their. No fueses. Just took the power of the cigerette lighter and earthed to the nearest piece of metal.

It's easier to take the intercooler off to do the temp probe; as Dave says though, you can leave it in place if you're just doing the Knocklink sensor.
Again, no fuses used.
Just a word of caution on using the cigarette lighter as a power source if you plan on ever geting a Tek3 remap. The mapper will use a laptop plugged in to the lighter and the software/ECU is very sensitive to power fluctuations; these can be caused by stuff wired up to lighter. Stereo worked out easier :)
