Hi all,
can anyone recommend a tyre dealer capable of doing a decent alignment/geometry check (i.e. with a full laser set up) in the south east? At the moment the only one I've used is Micheldever and thats a bit of a trek from where I live nr Sevenoaks.

Also, posted on here a while ago asking about suitable tyres for 18"s. Had one response saying Toyo's would be fine, but after trawling thro Scoobynet it appears that a number of people have had problems with anything other than P-Zero's rubbing on the suspension strut. Is anyone using GSD3's at the moment (on 18's) and have they had any problems?
Looking at the thick end of £600 to change all four so want them to be right.

Thanks

Isn't Powerstation located around you somewhere? They do the geometry.

re: Tyres. I ran F1 G2-D2's on mine until scrubbing them off on a driving training course, when I replaced them with D3's. After 7000 miles they never stopped being scary - not a patch on the ole D2's, with way, way too much sidewall play to make it comfortably predictable on fast cornering/slaloming. I will never buy them again! Running now with Toyos which are OK, but still leave me wanting.

I'm running on Toyos too. I'm not aware of any rubbing problems.

Hmmm........thanks guys.

Maybe the D3's need a rethink. Had them on my old Classic and they were fantastic, but maybe the 35 profile makes a difference to the way they handle. Perhaps this is part of the reason that Prodrive state that the P Zero's are the preffered tyre.

Heard good reports about the Toyo's and I believe they tend to be cheaper too - decisions.....decisions....

i would also asssume that the Toyos are goin to have a much softer compound then the othrs, so while they grip ace, they probably wear out quicker too....

it pretty much the same story with the Yokohoma that nobody raves about anymore... they just seem to ahavea soft compound that wears too damn quick. i no for sure i'd not want an outlay of £600ish for tyre more then once a year....

i guess the pzero give the best compromise of grip performance and wear rate....?

Well thats my opinion I quite like the Pirelli stock tyres although some people dont :?

Thanks again guys,
P-Zero's it is (and they're cheaper than F1's). Guess there's a lesson here - that Prodrive tend to know what they're doing!!
