Hi guys,
anyone know what pads are supplied in the Prodrive brake upgrade? Need some new ones shortly :( and am convinced I can get them cheaper than from the dealer. Can anyone recommend any alternate ones that a) fit and b) work well?

Also, has anyone changed the pads themselves on the above setup? how difficult is it? Have done the ones on a standard 4 pot setup before and it was v.easy.

Thanks

I think the pads are Ferodo DS2500 or DS3000. (there was a ref PF25 on my invoice)
The Subaru part number is SACC2579.
Dunno if this helps. :?

The DS3000 ones part no. SACC2475 are £170.17 a set. That's what I was charged on Wednesday along with £27 labour and £34.50 making a total of £231.67

Mine cost exactly the same! I assume my pads were the DS2500's, then, as the part number was different and invoice mentioned PF25....
I'm pretty sure Demontweeks sell them for less.

Thanks guys,
I'm assuming that no-one has fitted anything other than the Prodrive pads?

I have Mintex 1155 on the front's and IMO are better than the F25s, also they hardly give off any brake dust. They are also consederably cheaper. Fitting them yourself is very easy, you can get instructions from Scoobynet.

Hi Mike - thanks for the heads up. I'd heard a rumour through SN that this was in the offing but the dealer denied all knowledge last week. Any idea when these prices will come into effect?

Also, can I pick your brain re tyres and pressures for the Prodrive 18"s. Are prodrive still recommending only P-zero's for the wheels (why?) and can you confirm the recommeded tyre pressures for them. I have an authentic looking sticker inside the drivers side door that states 38Fr/35Rr, but this
a) makes the ride V hard.
b) seems to make the car 'skip' if bumps are encountered mid-bend and
c) are far in excess for the pressures given in the P1 booklet for 17"s.

Know you're v busy but advice would be gratefully received

Thanks

We are still recommending the Pirellis as we haven't found anything better when you take all the criteria into consideration. The pressures are a little higher than we would have liked for optimal tyre/chassis performance but they are the pressures we have to run to make sure the tyre is able to support the weight of the vehicle properly without overloading the tyre in extreme conditions. It's all down to load rating of the tyres.

Thanks Mike - top man and advice much appreciated.

In that case, I feel comfortable running them a bit lower at what 'feels' right given that my 'extreme' is probably considerably lower than yours!!

Thanks again
