Hi Mate, it is strongly recommended to run the P1 on 97 ron although it can be run safely on 95 ron but with reduced performance.

It says in the owners manual to run it on Super Unleaded. I would only use 95 ron if there was no Optimax or Super Unleaded around.
I have only run mine on Optimax even since I have had it

If you (dread the thought) DO have to use normal UL then stay OFF boost as far as is possible and limp to the next garage selling SUL

According to the supplement in the P1 handbook, 95ron can be used with no problems.

Personnally I only use optimax. There have been stories from people that have knocklinks fitted stating that the knocklink goes crazy with BP Ultimate and NUL. I have a knocklink fitted and never had any problems with Optimax.

HI Keith,
I definately read this on Scoobynet when looking into Knocklinks and swatting up on Det. Ever since I read it I have never put BP SUL or BP Ultimate in again
I'll have a look to see if I can find the thread.

cheers for that Kev I wasnt aware that there was such a difference! :?
I wish I could soley use Optimax but bleedin Shell dont want to build any garages local to me for some reason, even though I drive past the (ex) refinery every time I go to work (and i used to work there for 5 years!) I'll have to look out for Shell garages on my travels more
anyone running octane booster too? :?:

Hi Essex,
I always run OB with Optimax, I'm lucky there are several Shell garages in our area.
Even so, I have to say it seems to vary and still excites the KL from time to time.
Steve.
