Right!!!

Another one for Marky Mark (should just PM him really)

Have Samco's fitted but the hose connecting from the air filter keeps coming out off the Samco pipe!!!

Car just come back from the garage. Went in with idling problem, which apparently could be due to my after market rear box (HKS) or the Forge VTA. The car has been tested on the Select Monitor which keeps throwing up Air flow problem, although ive been told the monitor shows it to be working fine. The Maff was changed back in October!!! Any ideas??? I thought this may be a problem but the connection was fine going into the garage, but when i popped the bonnet to do an inspection the pipe had worked loose again.

Worried that the hose might completely detach, causing major problem :x :x :x I dont need anymore!!!

When you tighten the jubilee clip the hose obviously constricts/clamps onto the incoming Samco pipe. Until you over tigthen, then the pipe gets pushed out. I know what youll all say 'Dont over tighten the jubilee clip'!!! Not that stupid..... well not all the time.

Any ideas how to keep a tight seal on the pipe??? The Samco has a glossy finish which doesnt help.

Cheers

Mike

me again!!!!

if you get air being sucked in downstream of the maf, thats probably not good! the maf will still work and read correctly, but you will be getting more air than it thinks hence a lean mixture.

cant visualise the bit you are talking about mike, but a good old fashioned trick (read bodge) with slippy hoses / jubilee clips is to cut a bit of glass paper (thats the really coarse stuff for heavy sanding of wood) the same circumference of the hose and wrap it round under the clip or hose (whichever is slipping). bit of a temporary fix but might do the job!

Did a Subaru garage say you were having idling problems because of an HKS back box?
I just want to confirm this as I would love to know how they could justify that.
