Had my car remapped by Bob Rawle in Swindon today. What a nice chap!

Fascinating to see it being done and really pleased with the results.

Out of interest I had the downpipe fitted yesterday and when Bob looked at the standard ECU it wasn't a happy bunny at all. He suspected this was due to the decat pipe.

Peak boost now about 1.3. Full decat, STi panel filter, Forge recirc DV (for what it's worth!)

Highly recommended :)

Hi Simon

Are you planning on getting an RR done soon to check the power??

As you may know, I'm organising a Group Buy for these now - so any more facts/ figures you can post will be greatly appreciated.

What is the car like to drive now? How has it changed?

Cheers

Terry

Finally got a RR done with the new mods. Done at G-force Motorsport in Aylesbury (good bunch!) I went to G Force this time (ish) last year and a power run done when the car was standard so I can directly (almost) compare.

I'll scan the printout later but in the meantime....

Car was originally 270Bhp and 245ftlb Tq. Peak power was at about 6500RPM. Figures today 304Bhp and 291ftlb Tq.

Car makes original max torque (245) at about 3700 RPM with peak now at 4600. This is held until about 5200 when it tapers off very slowly.

Original max Bhp (270) comes up at about 4800 RPM and now peaks (304) at 6100.

Peak boost is now just under 1.3 at 4400 RPM tailing off slowly to 1.0 at the redline.

I'll scan and post the graphs etc later on tonight.

Not sure if it makes a great deal of difference but on the way home I stopped and checked my type pressures. They were all well low  (26 odd on the rears!). I have a feeling this can affect RR results...?

PS. Top tip. Stop reading this and (if you haven't already) go out get and decat and get a BRD remap. No seriously. Right now.

Nice one Simon

Good to see the figures increase nicely. How does it feel on the road though - are you getting more power lower down and reduced turbo lag??

Would be good to hear what you think.

Cheers

SH is coming to the meet, so a great opportunity to blag a ride, i'll be asking him for one anyway as its something i'm definately interested in 8) :D

Terry

Graph below shows the two runs I had done. The dotted lines are torque and the solid BHp. The red lines are the run I had last year when the car was standard and the blue are today's.

The power seems to come in a lot lower down and turbo spool up/lag is greatly reduced (noticed this on my UK turbo too when I decatted that). I think that maybe shows up on the graph at low revs on the torque curves (dotted lines). If you look at the red torque line it doesn't start to increase until about 3100 RPM; after the decat and remap it picks up very quickly from about 2700 RPM.

Things that used to require a drop down to third can now be happily done in 4th. The power curves do look fairly similar but I do notice a big difference when driving. The increased torque in 4th and 5th is the most noticeable thing (apart from lighting up the wheels at the traffic light grand prix ;) )

Happily give folks a ride/test drive whatever at the National Meet so you can "try before you buy" if you want :)

Thanks for that Simon - might just have to take up your offer at the meet. :D
